YEARLINGS (Sprout)
12 - 24 MONTHS

Starting between 12 and 14 months our infants transition into our yearling program. This program focuses on nurturing our emerging toddler's curiosity. We are engaged in providing an environment that supports the need for exploring their newly mobile world. Our programming at this stage is focused on providing a continued sense of love and security for each child while also encouraging active exploration, including walking, talking, creative motion, climbing. At every stage of their journey our yearlings are engaged with host of developmentally exciting toys + tools.

This helps to build a feeling of security and confidence in our newly mobile yearlings. Conscious curiosity, exploration and movement are our prevalent themes of development at this age.

In our yearling program we begin to introduce the idea of predictable flow. While we are always focused on the individual needs we also begin to reinforce the concept of scheduling into their day. 

YEARLING ROOM AGE RANGE: 12 - 24 MONTHS

ratio 4 yearlings : 1 caregiver

At this age we are focused on curiosity and exploration, both of themselves, their newfound movement and the world around them.
Each child in our program will be offered activities + objects which fall within their growth stage, they will play among their age range and will have access to additional objects but will be able to spend time focused on engaging and appropriate activities + toys.

Children will take part in age appropriate crafting and art projects, they will spend time outside throughout their day, weather allowing. At this age we will also introduce water play during appropriate months and snow day play during suitable winter weather events, this will require parent approval prior to inclusion in the activity.

*We will have opportunities for parents to engage with their kids during the month but note that we will recommend limited interaction when onsite as at this age kiddos are learning how to maintain a healthy sense of separation in order to foster confidence and independence. That said, we will be sure to give the opportunity to engage with kiddos in a non disruptive yet endearing way throughout the day/week.

TODDLERS (Seedling, Sapling)
24-36 MONTHS

This year of development allows us witness and encourage our students as they embark on a period of rapid development and unanticipated self awareness. Our educators understand on a deep emotional level the importance of nurturing the development of a healthy mind at this age. We are patient and understanding where the kids may not yet have the facilities to be. We are able to understand their journey and given the privilege to help guide them down the path they seek to find, yet cannot clearly depict.

TODDLER AGE RANGE: 24 - 36 MONTHS

ratio 6 toddlers : 1 caregiver

This is a period of significant cognitive development, we will engage in a whole range of movement and cerebrally stimulating activity. Creative movement, the world of make believe and the arts are a fun focus for this age. Kids will be on a predictable yet themed schedule throughout their weeks. We will spend ample time outside, digging and building, climbing, creating and surfing the emotional waves of TWO together.

Children will take part in age appropriate activities and will be presented with a dynamic range of creative opportunities to thrive and grow. All children in our program will spend an ample amount of time exploring their surroundings outdoors. At this age we will include water play during appropriate months and snow-day play during suitable winter weather events. Both activities will require approval which you will be asked to opt-in to in your on-boarding documents.

PRESCHOOLERS &
PREKINDERGARTEN (Bud, Blossom, Peonie)
36- 58 MONTHS

Our team will help our Preschoolers as they breakdown the how’s and why's of the world and will comfort them when they feel overwhelmed with emotions. It goes without saying, our preschoolers are truly grappling with the textures, tones and expressions that will blossom into the cornerstones of their personalities.

We introduce our preschoolers to their full range of reading and writing, numbers and letters and how to utilize them in their communications. These focuses will allow them to heighten their cognitive development and familiarize them with the dynamics of community/cultural inclusion. We will also keep a watchful eye on their interests, helping them foster deeper love and understanding for their own unique tastes.

AGE RANGE: 36-58 MONTHS
(PRESCHOOL AND PREK TRANSITIONAL AGE)

ratio 9 preschoolers : 1 caregiver (we have part time caregivers on our staff as well)

While in our preschool program, we will nurture the cognitive and emotional development of our precious little ones as they continue to navigate the complexities of language, sounds, strength, movement and the world around them. It is our privilege to help our community of kids cultivate a deep sense of security and confidence in their own unique unfolding as they grow into school age individuals.

Children will take part in age appropriate crafts + art projects, they will also spend more regular time outside throughout their day. At this age we will have water play during appropriate months and snow day play whenever the weather permits during the winter, this does require prior parent approval.

Our program focuses on ensuring our kids feel secure and nurtured throughout their experience with us as we help prepare them for their journey on to their school aged years. We have selectively chosen our school affiliations based on the high level of quality in their entire school program and most importantly on their ability to give the kids a warm and endearing atmosphere to grow within. We are happy to assist families with placement into kindergarten.
